WIP Wednesday: Update On My Writing #amwriting #VistaSecurity #NewBook #WIPWednesday

After such a long hiatus from writing between TRUST NO ONE and EDGE OF TRUST (which I’ll explain why that happened in a later blog post), I have finished the first draft of the next book! NIA, BE MINE is a prequel to THE GOOD DAUGHTER. It tells about Nia Nelson and Sandro Crocetti’s love story. I know there are some readers who didn’t like Sandro in THE GOOD DAUGHTER (I know! Hard for me to believe, I adore Sandro, but everyone has their own taste.) But since Sandro and Nia are so devoted to each other, I personally wanted to know more about when they met and fell in love.  A little author indulgence, here, which I hope you’ll enjoy as well.

It’s a shorter read at 200 pages, longer than PIRATE’S PROPOSAL (which I have sequels planned for that by the way), and definitely book length, but not as big as the other Vista Security books. And while it’s not officially part of the Vista Security series, I’ll still label it as such because many characters who are in NIA, BE MINE later have major roles in the Vista Security books. So we get a bit of back story on others, too.

I was going to post the whole unedited first chapter here, but in reading it, I still have some timeline issues. What I get for writing backwards, right? I have to work those out. But maybe by next week I’ll have the first chapter ready to post.

In the meantime, here is a snippet from right before Nia’s dream came true and she got to meet Sandro, her idol.

She had idolized Sandro for years; she had posters of him all over her dorm room, for heaven’s sake. When she dreamed of the perfect man, she dreamed of Sandro. As a matter of fact, she dreamed of him every night.
