Work-In-Progress Wednesday: Forced To Trust (Vista Security Series)

This is a placeholder book cover for the next Vista Security Series book, Forced to Trust. I was making good progress on it in 2020, and then well, you know what all happened these last few years. It especially set me in a spin because a novel vaccine is part of this book. I first mentioned it back in Trust No One with the scientist that MJ stole the plans from. Right before the love of her life skipped off with those plans, leaving her naked and alone in a foreign country.

With so much that happened, some of which seemed freakishly close to my plot, I had to stick Forced to Trust on the back burner.

Now, I’m in a better place mentally and writing again, and I am working on both Forced to Trust and the sequel to my vampire book Blood on a Texas Moon.

So today,  I thought I’d tell you a bit about Forced to Trust, it’s a story that I have wanted to write for years. Even before Vista Security existed. It was inspired by the Eagles song “Love Will Keep Us” Alive from their Hell Freezes Over album. When I first heard that song, I was like, I gotta write a story for this. (I’ll put the lyrics and a link below.)

Here’s the sentence I’m working with: A young mother must protect her child at all costs, even if it means accepting the help of a man she’s forced to trust. 

It brings in Niko, Tasha’s brother, who Tasha and Matt rescued from a Siberian prison in Edge of Trust. There’s a Russian mobster, and the Russian mobster’s stepdaughter, who has her own daughter she’s trying to protect. . .from her stepfather.

Pretty much the whole Vista gang is there, including Marisa, the Mafia Princess from The Good Daughter, as well as a new person who was rescued from prison, along with Niko.

All in all, it will be an intense book. But my thrillers tend to be intense. I’ll share parts of it in future posts.
